Meet Yumika Hoskin, an Australian-Japanese entrepreneur, model, TV host, and passionate advocate for sustainability.
Early Career: After earning her degree, Yumika launched her career as a fashion stylist in Melbourne. Her unique Eurasian look soon led her to regional Asia, where she thrived as a commercial model. Her big break came when she appeared on the reality show "SuperModel Me," competing to become Asia’s next supermodel.
Transition to TV Hosting: Yumika’s dynamic personality and ambition propelled her into television hosting. She moved from Australia to Singapore and quickly became a recognized face on regional television networks, including ESPN, Premier League, and MTV Asia. Covering a wide array of topics from entertainment and sports to lifestyle, Yumika also excelled as an emcee at numerous high-profile events.
Acting Ventures: Expanding her repertoire, Yumika ventured into acting, appearing in international productions, including a movie in Japan.
Entrepreneurship and Peco Bag: Yumika's commitment to environmental sustainability led her to establish Peco Bag in April 2019, coinciding with Earth Day. Peco Bag offers stylish, reusable, foldable bags made from recycled plastic bottles, aiming to reduce single-use plastic consumption. The brand has garnered significant attention and collaborations, including features in magazines, online campaigns, and partnerships with corporate entities across various industries such as property, hotels, EV cars, and financial institutions.
Sustainability Advocacy: Yumika is selective about her brand collaborations, choosing only those that align with her ethical and sustainable values. She uses her social media platforms to share green living tips, promote conscious products, and inspire her audience to adopt more sustainable lifestyles.
